Since the last few posts have been decidedly lacking in pictures, I thought I’d make this a picture rich entry…. Behold the works in progress:
First up are the socks (my travel project). The idea is to knit these on our trip, starting next weekend. As you can see, I’ve knit the toe, but not any further.
The yarn is a Chianti colour from Apple Laine.
I am also playing with the Faux Russian Stole from A Gathering of Lace. I’m not sure I will actually knit the whole thing, but I started the edging anyway. I’m using my new favourite yarn from Apple Laine again. This time it’s the Arizona colour way. It’s a little heavier than the pattern calls for, but I really like the look. It’s on 3.75 mm needles.
Here is the almost completed third panel of the Aran afghan. 5 cm more and it’s done. Then I have to assemble it and knit the edging.
I have started the second panel on the Lizard Ridge afghan for my son A. It’s a quick knit. Actually what takes the longest is that I keep working on other projects. I am enjoying the pattern and the colours, and am becoming quite good at knitting backwards for all those short row turns.
Finally we have some samples that arrived yesterday from Sarah’s Yarn. I have already started swatching one of the yarns, and will have to try all three. I love the colour charts. The colours look very different in real life than on the website.
